Meet Siegfried

Twenty years of practice, so the room never sees the work.

Siegfried Tieber is a sleight of hand magician and mentalist based in Los Angeles. He has spent his career on two very different stages, the corporate ballroom and the theater, and he treats both the same way: quietly, precisely, and with the audience in on the joke.

The short answer

He performs sleight of hand magic and mentalism for people who have seen a lot of entertainment and are difficult to surprise. Sometimes that is four hundred executives in a ballroom. Sometimes it is eight people around a dinner table. The work is close, conversational, and built for the specific room it happens in.

There are no rabbits, no wands, and no decks fanned out for the camera. What there is instead: something impossible happening a few inches from your hands, and a performer who seems as delighted by it as you are.

Meet Siegfried

The long way around

Siegfried was born and raised in Ecuador. He made his international debut in Bogotá in 2011, and a few years later headlined the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival in the world, where critics named the show one of the standouts of the year.

His theatrical show See/Saw premiered in Los Angeles in 2017 and transferred to New York the following season. Time Out New York put it at number one on its list of the best magic shows in the city.

Since then the work has taken two parallel paths. One is theatrical, a monthly residency at the W Hollywood where sixty people buy a ticket because they want to be astonished. The other is corporate and private, where a company or a host brings him in because the evening needs a moment everyone will remember. The two feed each other. The theater is where new material gets tested in front of people who paid to be there. The events are where it gets adapted, on the spot, to a room he has never performed in before.

BUILT FOR CONNECTION

What he actually does

Sleight of hand

Magic that happens in your hands, not his. Cards, coins, borrowed objects, close enough that you could reach out and stop it.

Mentalism

A thought you did not say out loud, returned to you a few minutes later. It works best in a quiet room with people who are certain it will not work on them.

The humor is not a garnish on top of either one. It is how the room stays comfortable enough to actually participate, which is the difference between an audience watching a performance and an audience inside one.

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO WORK WITH HIM

Before he ever takes the room

Most of the anxiety around booking entertainment has nothing to do with the entertainment. It is the not knowing. Whether the performer will reply this week. Whether they understand a run of show. Whether the act that looked great in a video will land in a ballroom with a low ceiling and a live band next door.

Siegfried handles that part the way he handles the performance, which is to say in advance and without drama. Inquiries get answered quickly. A discovery call covers the room, the guest count, the occasion, and what a good night actually looks like for the person doing the booking. Timing and technical needs are settled well before the day. There is a final check in a few days out. Then he arrives early, and the person who hired him gets to enjoy their own event.

The Theatrical Show

Magic as Medium

Magic as Medium is Siegfried’s monthly residency at the W Hollywood Hotel, limited to sixty seats. Sleight of hand, mentalism, and mischief, experienced from a few feet away. It is a night built for people who want to be astonished on purpose rather than between courses, and it is the laboratory for everything that eventually shows up at a corporate event.

If you would like to see him work before you book him, this is the seat to take.

Let's talk about your event

Tell Siegfried the date, the room, and the occasion. He will come back with a recommendation, and if he is not the right fit, he will say so and point you somewhere better.
